HPE XP P9000 Data Exchange Software
Store and manage mainframe and open systems data on a single HPE XP P9500 Storage. HPE XP P9000 Data Exchange Software allows seamless data exchange between mainframe and open systems hosts. It provides management of data format and code conversions, and allows information sharing across computing platforms. It supports HP-UX, Windows, Linux, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX and mainframe operating systems.
HPE XP P9000 DKA Encryption Software
HPE XP P9000 DKA Encryption Software enables the encryption capability for all the data that is stored on the internal drives of the HPE XP P9500 Storage. The Enhanced DKA encrypts the data on disk drives so that data cannot be read off a disk drive that is removed from the HPE XP P9500 Storage. Only data on the disk drives is encrypted (data in cache is not encrypted).
HPE XP P9000 Array Manager Software
HPE XP P9000 Array Manager Software improves efficiency and maintains quality of service by allowing you to manage data volumes and allocate HPE XP P9500 Storage resources so that your applications receive the proper level of support. Create LUNs, create expanded LUNs, and create small custom size volumes, and establish host access to them. Efficiently control replication volumes with a host-based command line interface. Improve performance by reserving areas of cache to store frequently accessed data. Isolate applications by subdividing the XP P9500 Storage into smaller segments, each consisting of dedicated cache, disk and ports.
HPE XP P9000 Array Manager Software protects your data by controlling access, preventing unauthorized alteration, and securely deleting data when it is no longer required. Configure security to prevent unauthorized servers from accessing the data.
HPE XP P9000 for Compatible PAV Software
HPE XP P9000 for Compatible Parallel Access Volumes and HPE XP P9000 for Compatible Hyper PAV Software enable high performance concurrent access of mainframe volumes by permitting a mainframe host system to issue multiple I/O requests in parallel to individual logical devices within the HPE XP P9500 Storage. Without PAV, mainframe systems can initiate only one I/O request per device at a time, and must wait for the I/O to complete before starting another I/O request to the same device. By utilizing alias addresses that all point to the same device as the base address, PAV enables the host system to start several I/O requests simultaneously to the same device, thus greatly improving performance.
The XP P9500 Storage supports static PAV, dynamic PAV, and Hyper PAV. With static PAV, the number of aliases assigned to each base device does not change. With dynamic PAV, high workload base devices can borrow idle PAV aliases from other base devices, increasing their I/O capability.
HPE XP P9000 Thin Provisioning Software
HPE XP P9000 Thin Provisioning Software reduces the cost, accelerates the return on investment and reduces the environmental impact of your HPE XP P9500 Storage. It allows you to supply disk storage capacity to your applications from a pool of virtualized storage. By enabling you to allocate your anticipated future storage capacity needs from virtual disk storage, HPE XP P9000 Thin Provisioning Software reduces the amount of physical disk capacity initially required. As utilization of disk space increases over time, you can purchase more disk capacity as it is needed and install it without affecting your applications. HPE XP P9000 Thin Provisioning Software reduces your initial storage acquisition cost, and reduces total cost of ownership, by allowing you to defer some storage purchases to a later date. Configure large logical volumes using a minimum of physical capacity, only paying for and installing storage when it is needed.
HPE XP P9000 Auto LUN Software
HPE XP P9000 Auto LUN Software provides automatic monitoring and load balancing for your HPE XP P9500 Storage. It makes the most efficient use of your disk arrays by moving high-priority tasks to underutilized volumes, replicating volumes for backup and recovery, and viewing the health of your arrays. You set performance goals and limits, and XP P9000 Auto LUN does the rest. It proposes a migration plan and estimates how much your storage performance will improve when it's done. XP P9000 Auto LUN lets you evaluate disk array usage and determine whether resources are overloaded or out of balance. Use its easy-to-follow menus to define when data is collected and arrays are monitored. Use up to 90 days of stored historical data to spot trends and create up-to-the-minute reports. You can export data to a spreadsheet for further analysis. If resources are overloaded, XP P9000 Auto LUN Software will create a plan to move volumes, then stands by for your approval to make changes.
HPE XP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Software
HPE XP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Software is a full-featured device manager for the HPE XP P9500 and XP Disk Array products. In addition to device management, it offers optional plug-in applications that provide replication monitoring, provisioning management, and tiered storage management for multiple HPE XP P9500 and XP Disk Arrays. It also provides a platform from which to launch other disk array based application such as Auto LUN Software. Command View AE monitors storage resources quickly and easily, automates storage management processes, and delivers more efficient utilization and control across distributed enterprise storage.
HPE XP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition enables logical, physical and host management capabilities for HPE XP P9500 Storage and XP Disk Arrays, provisioning and storage pooling for both internal and external storage, capacity analysis based on physical storage class, and offers multiple levels of security for storage administrators.
HPE XP P9000 Smart Tiers Software
HPE XP P9000 Smart Tiers Software improves storage performance and controls costs by transparently migrating data to appropriate tiers of storage within the HPE XP P9500 Storage. Smart Tiers manages data in thin provisioning pools. It monitors performance at the page level and can migrate the data online to a different tier, automatically or manually, based on policies. Smart Tiers supports up to three tiers per pool.
XP P9000 Smart Tiers helps utilize different types of storage media (SSD, 15K SAS, 7.2K SAS) optimally. With page level movements across tiers, it enables the most effective utilization of expensive tiers such as SSD by helping ensure that only the most frequently accessed data is stored there.
HPE XP P9000 Performance Advisor Software
HPE XP P9000 Performance Advisor identifies performance bottlenecks before they impact your business. It collects and displays performance data for HPE XP P9500 and XP Disk Arrays. It helps mitigate risk by providing performance alarm notification through email, SNMP, or user-defined scripts and helps avoid impending outages due to unavailable or misallocated storage resources. Its report generation and scheduling capability improves IT processes and maintains array performance by immediately identifying storage bottlenecks.
Performance Advisor reduces complexity and accelerates resolution of problems by collecting information from multiple arrays across multiple sites, and allows you to drill down to the problem area. Its ability to collect up to 320 GB of historical data enables detailed trend analysis and makes it easier to analyze performance data at regular intervals. Its rich Command-Line User interface (CLUI) supports integration with third party software.
HPE XP P9000 for Compatible Extended Remote Copy Software
HPE XP P9000 for Compatible Extended Remote Copy (XRC) Software provides disaster protection and data migration capability for data stored on an HPE XP P9500 Storage by implementing IBM mainframe compatible asynchronous remote replication. XP P9000 XRC provides the same functionality as IBM Extended Remote Copy (now called IBM TotalStorage z/OS Global Mirror), and is compatible with System Data Mover (SDM) mainframe software. When data is written to the local HPE XP P9500 Storage, XRC temporarily stores a time stamped copy of it in a side file. SDM in one of the mainframe hosts asynchronously reads the side file data from the local XP P9500 Storage and then writes the data to the remote disk array.
XRC can be combined with other XP P9500 Storage replication products for additional availability. When combined with XP P9000 Continuous Access Synchronous for Mainframe, XRC supports three Data Center disaster recovery solutions.
