Intelligent Storage Manager reduces complexity and the effort required to manage storage resources, allowing for more time to focus on strategic revenue generating initiatives.
HPE Storage SANnav Management Software
Would you like to visualize, manage, and analyze SAN performance and overall operational health intelligently?
As organizations race to modernize the data center to support innovation and digital transformation, storage networks are evolving faster to accommodate the new applications. Administrators, therefore, need ways to visualize and manage SAN health and performance efficiently. HPE SANnav Management Software is the next-gen SAN management application suite for HPE B-series Fibre Channel SAN environments. It consists of SANnav Management Portal Software and SANnav Global View Software. SANnav Management Portal builds the foundation for an autonomous SAN with a modernized and simple browser-based UI to monitor and streamline common workflows, such as configuration, zoning, deployment, troubleshooting, and reporting. SANnav Global View enables visualization of health, performance, and inventory of multiple SANnav Management Portal instances using a simple yet intelligent dashboard.
HPE 3PAR Thin Conversion Software
What I can do to improve the capacity efficiency of my legacy storage volumes without complex data migration or professional services?
HPE 3PAR Thin Conversion Software leverages the zero-detection capabilities within the HPE 3PAR Gen3 ASIC to drive the conversion of inefficient, “fat” volumes on legacy arrays to more efficient, higher utilization “thin” volumes on HPE 3PAR Storage Systems. This “thinning” of volumes enables data centers to meet Green IT targets, eliminate wasted space, and increase utilization rates. Because the fat-to-thin conversion mechanism is built into array hardware, volume conversions take place inline, at wire speeds, while preserving service levels, and without disruption to production workloads. With Thin Conversion, a technology refresh no longer requires a terabyte-for-terabyte replacement, but instead offers the opportunity to reduce capacity requirements by 50 percent or more without the need to invest in professional services.
HPE 3PAR Thin Persistence Software
What good are thin provisioning savings if they can’t be preserved over time?
An industry first, HPE 3PAR Thin Persistence Software means that thin volumes on the HPE 3PAR Storage System stay as lean and efficient as possible by leveraging the HPE 3PAR Gen3 ASIC to reclaim unused space associated with deleted data—simply, quickly, and non-disruptively. Writing and deleting large amounts of data can leave unused space within thin volumes. Even lots of small writes and deletions can eventually reduce the efficiency of thin volumes. This logical deletion of data without actually freeing up unused space creates a hidden utilization penalty that can really add up over time. HPE 3PAR Thin Persistence Software reclaims this unused space to increase capacity efficiency, keep costs down, and help defer the purchase of additional capacity to handle new data growth. Thin Persistence also helps enterprises maintain sustainability targets by keeping down data center power and cooling needs.
HPE 3PAR Thin Provisioning Software
Do you have storage pools that aren’t really efficient?
HPE 3PAR Thin Provisioning Software solves the problem of inefficient capacity utilization by breaking the traditional linkage between allocated and purchased capacity. Demand for thin provisioning solutions combined with increased attention to data center power consumption has put pressure on vendors to introduce thin provisioning solutions, but bolt-on implementations can’t deliver the simplicity or the efficiency of Thin Provisioning.
With HPE 3PAR Thin Provisioning, capacity is dedicated and configured autonomically, just-in-time, and without active management. Rather than create separate pools of storage, the software creates one pool from which capacity is dedicated only as data is actually written. And while other thin provisioning implementations use coarse allocation units that can range from 1 MB to 17 GB, HPE 3PAR Thin Provisioning uses a fine-grained, 16 KB allocation unit to increase system efficiency.
HPE XP for Compatible Extended Remote Copy Software
HPE XP for Compatible Extended Remote Copy (XRC) Software provides disaster protection and data migration capability for data stored on an HPE XP Disk Array by implementing IBM mainframe compatible asynchronous remote replication. XRC provides the same functionality as IBM Extended Remote Copy (now called IBM TotalStorage z/OS Global Mirror), and is compatible with System Data Mover (SDM) mainframe software. When data is written to the local XP disk array, XRC temporarily stores a timestamped copy of it in a sidefile. SDM in one of the mainframe hosts asynchronously reads the sidefile data from the local XP disk array and then writes the data to the remote disk array.
XRC can be combined with other XP disk array replication products for additional availability. When combined with Hitachi TrueCopy for Mainframe, XRC supports 3 Data Center disaster recovery solutions.
HPE Secure Manager Tape Library Software
The HPE Secure Manager for Tape Libraries software advanced feature option provides secure, device-level access, virtual library partitions, and configuration flexibility designed for SAN environments. As a component of HPE Command View for Tape Libraries (CV-TL), it provides centralized, web-based management for HPE ESL9000 and ESL E-Series enterprise class tape libraries, increases reliability and robustness of tape libraries in the SAN, and integrates with leading enterprise management applications.
Secure Manager for Tape Libraries allows system administrators to design reliability and security into backup SAN environments, providing backup security against extraneous SAN events and protecting host servers with the benefit of simplified SAN management. Virtual library partitions provide security between separated SAN environments.
HPE StoreEasy Storage/NAS Upgrade Software
The HPE StoreEasy 1X60 Recovery Software Media Kit contains a System Recovery USB key that is used to re-install the factory operating system image. Booting the system from the System Recovery media will restore the operating system image and logical drive to the factory default state. This enables recovery of the system if all other means to boot the system fail.
HPE Library and Tape Tools
HPE Library and Tape Tools is a free, downloadable, and robust diagnostic tool for all Hewlett Packard Enterprise tape storage products. Provided for untrained administrators as well as experienced professionals, it is ideal for customers who want to verify their installation, facilitate product reliability, perform their own diagnostics, and achieve faster resolution of tape device issues. HPE Library and Tape Tools performs firmware upgrades, verification of device operation, failure analysis, and a range of utility functions. Performance tools assist in troubleshooting bottlenecks and system configuration checks warn of common host issues. It also provides seamless integration with Hewlett Packard Enterprise support by generating and e-mailing test results and support tickets. Our support desk will require the use of this product to troubleshoot most device issues, so it is recommended that a support ticket is pulled and the device assessment test is run before calling.
