HPE Secure Encryption is available for both local and remote deployments. Local Key Management mode provides a single server deployment. Remote Key Management mode allows for central management of enterprise-wide deployment. Both Local Key Management and Remote Key Management modes require the HPE Smart Storage Administrator (SSA) version 220.127.116.11 or later, Smart Array Px3x and Px4x controllers, and Smart Array firmware version 1.50 or later. For Remote Key Management mode, HPE Enterprise Secure Key Manager (ESKM) 3.1 manages all remote keys and will help you scale to over 25,000 servers and millions of keys.
Broad Encryption Coverage
HPE Secure Encryption encrypts the data on both the attached bulk storage and cache module of the HPE Smart Array controllers.
Secure Encryption Software supports all hard disk drive or solid state drive for HPE ProLiant Gen8 and Gen9 servers, or supported storage enclosures.
High Availability and Scalability
HPE Secure Encryption easily scales with your business from a single server to enterprise-wide deployment of over 25,000 servers via the HPE Enterprise Secure Key Manager (ESKM) 3.1.
ESKM version 3.1 manages all remote keys centrally and, when deployed in a clustered configuration, maximizes uptime.
Simplified Deployment and Management
The HPE Smart Storage Administrator configures the features of HPE Secure Encryption associated with the HPE Smart Array controllers.
One HPE Secure Encryption license is required per server.
