Are you spending too much time and money on server updates?
Smart Update Manager (SUM) and the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) combine to create the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Smart Update Technology to solve the problem of time-consuming, expensive, and error-prone updates.
SUM is an innovative tool for keeping the firmware, drivers, and system software of HPE ProLiant, HPE Synergy, HPE BladeSystem and HPE Moonshot infrastructures and associated options up to date and secure.
SUM discovers the installed hardware and the current versions of firmware, drivers, and system software, provides an update recommendation, and
applies the updates in an efficient order to reduce impact on operations.
SUM provides a variety of interfaces for applying updates, so you can pick the interface that meets your needs. Update the servers while they are offline or online, locally or remotely via web browser, or interactively or automatically.
The Scripting Toolkit (STK) for Windows and Linux provide flexible scripting to automate steps in HPE ProLiant server configurations to scale high volumes of server deployments rapidly and cut deployment time substantially. The STK includes a modular set of utilities and documentation that describe how to apply the scripting tools for an automated deployment process.
It delivers hands-off, unattended installation for high volume HPE ProLiant server deployments and is integrated with other management tools such as Integrated Lights Out (iLO), BIOS and is based on Intelligent Provisioning. Its "Rack and Go" approach frees up scarce IT resources, delivers consistent server configurations across multiple servers, and integrates into popular methods for operating system deployment. Past versions were based on SmartStart, and were known as the SmartStart Scripting Toolkit.
Having problems finding a single scripting tool that provides management automation among the server components? Being challenged with many tools, remote management vulnerabilities and scripting limitation? Hewlett Packard Enterprise offers you a single scripting tool called RESTful Interface Tool designed for HPE ProLiant Gen9 & Gen10 Servers with flexible and simpler scripting server automation at scale for rapid deployments to help cut time substantially. The RESTful Interface Tool lets you configure, monitor and update various server components. The tool is agnostic to the iLO RESTful API that is Redfish API conformant with no FW or schema download dependencies, allowing management of iLO, BIOS, Smart Array and firmware updates
The HPE Insight Management for Netcool/OMNIbus provides infrastructure management across a wide range of operating system platforms. This enables IT administrators to manage HPE ProLiant servers, storage and other enterprise resources within a common Netcool/OMNIbus environment.
The HPE Insight Management for Netcool/OMNIbus provides definitions for over 2578 individual events, defined in its rules file and to correlate nearly 785 SNMP events. These definitions and rules integrate closely with the Netcool/OMNIbus application using the Mttrapd probe, enabling HPE SNMP events and Fibre Channel Management SNMP events to be identified, processed, translated, and appear on the Event List.
Are you looking for a way to automate your Hewlett Packard Enterprise server configuration tasks using Windows PowerShell? HPE Scripting Tools for Windows PowerShell is a powerful set of utilities that can be used to perform various configuration tasks on HPE Servers. Windows PowerShell is Microsoft's task automation framework, consisting of a command-line shell and associated scripting language built on the .NET Framework.
HPE Scripting Tools for Windows PowerShell provides a simplified and consistent infrastructure management experience. They follow the standard PowerShell syntax and scripting model, making it easy for customers to incorporate these functions into their administrative scripts.
Wondering how to get your HPE ProLiant Server up and running with improved security using industry standard interfaces?
Each HPE ProLiant Gen9 and Gen10 Server supports Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI). This industry standard is a set of interfaces between the system firmware, the operating system, and various components of the system firmware that deliver enhanced security benefits for the HPE Servers.
The HPE ProLiant system BIOS is a UEFI solution based on the latest UEFI Specification revisions. In addition, most HPE ProLiant Gen9 and Gen10 Server are UEFI Class 2 solution, supporting both Legacy BIOS boot and UEFI boot modes, providing users the flexibility to switch between modes. UEFI supports iLO RESTful API and is Redfish API conformant.
