The demand for power efficiency continues to become a key concern for improvement. Data Center Managers in North America are searching for alternative solutions to distribute electricity through their facility more effectively and efficiently. Costly and inefficient transformers used to convert 480 volt AC power to 200 – 240 volt power for sensitive IT equipment is a critical concern. Bringing 480 volt power directly into the rack will eliminate the use of transformers and vastly improve efficiency. This will reduce expensive construction and or the expansion of costly data centers while providing a reduction in monthly operational cost.
Though today’s sophisticated IT equipment and power distribution was not originally designed to use these high voltages, the new HPE 480/277 Volt solutions changes that by providing the critical infrastructure at the rack taking advantage of the higher efficiencies available from these power systems.
