Are you looking for a complete network function virtualization solution? HPE NFV System, a turnkey NFV infrastructure platform, includes choice of Virtual Infrastructure Management software (HPE Helion OpenStack Carrier Grade or Red Hat OpenStack Platform) and choice of storage (CEPH, HPE VSA, HPE 3PAR). The NFV System delivers pre-configured, pre-integrated, pre-tested solutions for quick, simple NFV deployments. These are designed to help CSPs and network equipment providers (NEPs) to move from proof of concepts and trials to live deployment of complete NFV solutions. The NFV System is offered in "right sized" bundles of fully validated hardware and software that allows CSPs to start their NFV journey as small as needed and to scale-up as demand grows. The pre-packaged kits are interoperable with third-party VNF providers (HPE OpenNFV program and Red Hat Partner program) providing a broad base of innovation and proven solutions.
HPE Telco Blueprints are validated reference configurations based on HPE infrastructure platforms and partner-sourced virtual infrastructure manager (VIM) offerings that are customized for specific NFV use cases. These blueprints are offered with automated configuration toolkits and documentation to simplify the install and build of the NFV infrastructure stack.
Are you a communications service provider (CSPs) that wants to deploy a carrier grade data center using OpenStack®?
HPE Helion OpenStack Carrier Grade Software for NFV is a carrier grade OpenStack distribution plus compute and network virtualization offering for network functions virtualization (NFV) that enables CSPs to deploy NFV applications on open source software platforms. A carrier grade platform requires the successful integration of many core technologies that are outside the realm of the base OpenStack project. Some key examples include the host operating system (for example, Linux®), server virtualization (KVM), network virtualization (vSwitch), and SDN controllers. It is built on the same foundation as the HPE Helion OpenStack Enterprise Edition, and adds significant enhancements in three key areas, carrier grade features and manageability, availability, and performance.
In a wholesale Session Border Controller solution, the Wholesale Operator SBCs are connected to Wholesale Customers via IP networks. Each wholesale customer is assigned two SBCs, acting as primary and secondary. Health checking and failover are the responsibility of the customer and often, when a failure is detected, instead of failing over to the secondary SBC, customers choose to fail over to an alternate provider – resulting in lost revenue to the wholesale carrier. Furthermore, as each wholesale customer can only be supported by a single SBC, there are severe limitations on the scale of the service to any single customer.
HPE SBC Global Traffic Manager addresses these issues by introducing a distributed SBC load balancer to which wholesale customers connect. The HPE SBC Load Balancer, a carrier class, fully redundant solution, presents virtual IP addresses to wholesale customers and load balances calls among a set of SBCs per policy configured by the operator.
Are you looking to move HPE Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) solutions into your production networks? Most Communication Service Provider (CSPs) are seeking technology that is easily operationalized, highly available and accommodates lifecycle management. HPE Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) Validated Configurations (VCs) provide CSPs with a verified, pre-integrated NFV platform backed with end-to-end solution support. The NFV VCs are co-designed with customers including their choice of 3rd party hardware and software components – leveraging HPE’s extensive knowledge of NFV best practices. The NFV VCs provide flexibility, accelerated deployment, reduced risk, faster time to value, and finally NFV solution aware support with a single point of contact. It suits CSPs who have made specific choices in software, server, or networking technologies or vendors, but still want to make NFV deployment fast and risk-free.
